Choose the right LaTeX image format
Start with the destination. Slides, websites, markdown docs, and upload forms all handle equation images differently.
- Use PNG when you need a normal raster equation image with optional transparency.
- Use SVG when the formula must stay sharp at any size.
- Use JPG or JPEG when the target app does not support transparency or vector graphics.
Know the rendering boundary
These tools render math expressions with MathJax in your browser. They are designed for equations and common math environments, not full TeX Live documents.
